I get a lot of questions from listeners, yoga teachers, and followers I have on social media quite often, so I wanted to take today to answer a few of them. My hope is that in answering these on my podcast, will help someone else as well!
How do you structure a day for optimal productivity, but downtime, too?
I work for myself, and for those who work for themselves it can be difficult to disconnect. What I try and do is have segments of each day where I don’t have anything scheduled, usually in a 1 to 2 hour block, where I am as disconnected as possible.
How do you handle a broken heart?
Feel it. Hearts can be broken in so many different ways, but it’s important to remember that you are strong. There’s a lot of light that does come from a broken heart. Feel the darkness, but know that light is coming.
As a vegan, what do you eat?
I see food as a source of fuel, and I eat only when I’m hungry. There is so much that you can do, and I recommend keeping it simplified for yourself.
How do you grow a yoga business in this market?
You have to look at it from the lens that there truly is room for everyone. As a yoga teacher, I would recommend preparing yourself because leaving a salaried career to start teaching is a big change. Have knowledge about the body! Stay educated, this only adds to your movement practice. From the studio owner perspective, there is a lot that goes into this as well, especially to the unseen eye. Try and hold the bar high!
