357 | Being Your True Creative, Authentic Self | with Nathan Hirschaut

Nathan Hirschaut is an ex-professional dancer who graduated from The Juilliard School. He’s also a yoga teacher with a passion for creative coaching and spiritual evolution. He’s lived a lot of life in his 21 years and has a lot of wisdom to share from that time.

Before Juilliard and before professional dancing, Nathan saw dance as more of a sport than an art. He was good at controlling his body, but he didn’t understand how to use that for self-expression. Now, in the year of COVID and with dance mostly on hold, Nathan decided to go full force into starting his business, Hive Creates, a company dedicated to supporting the next generation of leading artists in 2018.

When he realized that he didn’t want to follow the traditional path laid out for people, he knew he had to build an inner compass to guide him and help him be strong enough to navigate the unknown. He gathered the components he needs to not only create authentically but to help others do the same.

    356 | Wednesday Q&A with Kristin Williams | February 17, 2021

Welcome to Wednesday Q&A, where you ask questions and we answer them!

    Your questions:

    • Can posture make you have a hump at the top of your spine, and if you correct your posture, will it fix itself?
    • If yoga is used to move the spine in ways to improve posture, doesn’t it also work with the muscles to improve one’s posture in a muscular sense, and does movement in a yoga practice train the nervous system to bring our bodies into a proper posture?
    • I’ve heard that massage can also help improve posture through manipulation of the muscle tissue. I’ve heard it’s especially helpful for people with rounded shoulders. Is this true?
    • What is the root cause of dorsal kyphosis?

355 | How to Get In Touch With Your Energy | with Mira DeMartino

How can we tap into our own energy and make the most of it?

Mira DeMartino is a goddess of energy; a sculpter, an artist, and a beautiful spirit in every way. Originally from Poland, Mira used to be a fashion designer and interior designer. She began to observe how the energy of the objects she created for her clients was changing them, and she realized that people can empower themselves through the objects that they surround themselves with.

Our energy flow starts with physical body movement, and moves on from there. Then there is the energy contained in the objects around us. And we have to recognize that energy management starts with the thoughts that we choose to think and feel.

If you’re looking to add some energy to your room, it is hard to give prescriptive advice, but Mira recommends that you start by observing yourself and understanding yourself. Find out what spaces you feel good in, or what styles you like, and once you recognize that, you can begin to incorporate that into every space that you spend time in.
