    418. Menopause & Hormones

While the conversation around menopause has opened up over the years, it is still not something that people openly talk about (unless they are complaining about it). Let’s change the conversation. Menopause can be a beautiful transition into a different phase of life, and while some of the symptoms are not pleasant, there are ways to take control of them.

  • 415. Ten Tips to Balance Your Energy

We all want balance in our lives. We want to have the energy to get things done, while also having the ability to relax when needed. The extremes of both can be incredibly draining, so how do we find that wonderful homeostasis between rest and activity?

Balancing your energy requires keeping our thoughts positive. As Gandhi says, “Our thoughts become our words, our words become our behaviors, our behaviors become our habits, our habits become our values, and our values become our destiny.”

    412. The Science of Sleep

The importance of sleep is inherent. Many times, the first question we ask people in our household is “How did you sleep?” and, surprisingly, it can be a difficult question to answer.

There is power in ritual, whether it’s having a pizza night, going on yearly trips, or honoring the summer solstice.

The summer solstice can feel like both a renewal and a portal of energy. It’s the longest day of light in The Northern Hemisphere and, because of that, it feels like so much can be felt and accomplished in the time it offers. 406. Focus Muscle

Focus is important for everyone, but it gets harder with age. How often do we have big plans for our day, only to reach the end without accomplishing what we wanted? That’s due, in part, to our ability to focus.

Focus is like a muscle that we have to exercise. We have to work on it and we have to strengthen it.

    • Fuel your body.
    • Operate with intelligence.
    • Cut out distractions.
    • Uncluttered space.
    • Sweat.

Focus on less, because that will help you when your focus matters most.

    403. Walk This Way

Walking is one of those things we do automatically. The programming to walk is in our brains from birth and we rarely have to think about it. But walking is a huge indicator of how we move, overall.

If we’re not walking optimally, the body will naturally find ways to compensate and those compensations will lead to problems down the road. Let’s look at how to correct posture imbalances so that you can stand tall and feel good.

    How do we remember?

There’s something sacred in the practice of remembrance. We can reflect on how far we’ve come in the wake of hard times, or—if those hard times are now—we can remember a better time, knowing that times such as those will come again. Let’s explore some of the ways we can forge memories and flex the recall muscle in our brains.

    397. The Importance of a Greeting

How can we learn to better greet people?

While this may seem like something that comes naturally, after a year of being in a pandemic it’s possible that we’ve lost some of that instinctive sense of greeting. The isolation has also made us more complacent and, over Zoom, some of our connection gets lost. Let’s start regenerating that emotional link with a simple “Hello”.
