Let’s discuss the concept of the uncharted path. It’s a topic that’s particularly relevant to our world today.
We need to learn to embrace the fact that we are all on an uncharted path. Imagine sitting on a train facing backwards: You know you’re moving forward, but you can only look back on where you’ve been. But always remember that we have the ability to change the path that we’re on at any given moment, even if we don’t know where it’s going.

This fifth of the Yamas, a yogic philosophy tenant, can be translated from Sanskrit to “non-grasping” or “non-attachment.”
But how do we live a life without attachment? How do we evolve in every area of our lives — work, pleasure, home life, inner growth — but not grasp and hold onto things? At a certain point, you have to be okay with the way that things turn out.

We could all use some calm in our lives. If you’re feeling a lack of calm, I want to walk you through what you can do to lower your nervous system using this acronym:
C – Clear your voice, your breath, and your thoughts.
A – Aim for one minute of closed eyes and following your breath.
L – Lightly tap your body.

While we’re all more isolated by necessity, there are so many benefits to finding a group for self-improvement. It’s more important than ever to break out of our shells.
When we’re by ourselves, we can grow unaware of our bad habits because they become automatic, but once we’ve put ourselves in a group where those bad habits are not accepted, or the good habits we aren’t doing for ourselves are the norm, it puts us in stark contrast and motivates us to make changes.

We are all wired a certain way, and it is so important to know who we are at our essence.
That doesn’t mean we can’t rewire ourselves and shift some things, but we have some circuitry that’s pre-programmed into our nature and it’s important to recognize and celebrate that. Because when we try to be someone who we are not, it can be exhausting — and it usually ends in headaches or tears. Know yourself, embrace yourself, and lean into it.

The surfer’s motto is to always be in the curl of the wave—to find that curl and ride it. When you find that sweet spot, you can make your way safely and smoothly to shore. Isn’t that a great metaphor for life?
